    Description

    As a Senior Insurance Broker specialising in the mining industry, you will be responsible for developing and managing insurance programs for our clients, with a focus on large and ASX-listed companies. You will leverage your deep understanding of the mining sector to identify and mitigate complex risks, ensuring our clients receive comprehensive and cost-effective insurance solutions. You will also play a key role in developing and executing our marketing strategy to expand our presence in the mining industry.

    The Role

    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients in the mining industry, including large ASX-listed companies.
    • Provide expert advice on insurance coverage and risk management strategies.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their insurance needs and resolving any issues promptly.
    • Conduct regular client meetings to review insurance programs and ensure alignment with their evolving needs.
    • Work with clients to develop their approach to insurance to be more strategic and to build resilience and risk mitigation strategies.
    • Work with our team of experts in placement of insurance lines to negotiate and secure comprehensive and competitive insurance terms, ensuring optimal coverage and pricing for clients.
    • Prepare and present detailed insurance proposals and reports to clients.
    • Lead insurance renewals and support claims processes, ensuring efficient and effective resolution.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks within the mining sector that are relevant to clients and prospects in considering their insurance needs.
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
    • Develop and implement marketing strategies to enhance our brand presence and attract new clients.
    • Attend industry events and conferences to network and build relationships with key stakeholders.
    • Contribute to the strategic direction of our clients approach to their insurance portfolios.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant insurance regulations and industry standards.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and documentation.

    Qualifications

    The Requirements

    We would like to consider a wide range of potential candidates from within and outside of insurance broking.  If you have deep expertise in any of the following, we are interested in speaking to you even if your knowledge specific to insurance is limited:

    Experience:

    • Proven experience as an Insurance Broker, with a strong focus on the mining industry.
    • Extensive knowledge of mining operations, mining finances and/or mining risks.
    • Extensive experience in negotiation of contracts in the mining industry.
    • Track record of an ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
    • Strong understanding of contracts, contract law and/or insurance policies.
    • Strong understanding of insurance products and markets, particularly those relevant to the mining sector.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Experience servicing large ASX listed clients.
    • Experience with developing strategy and marketing to the mining industry.

     

    Qualifications and personal attributes:

    • You will be required to hold or obtain relevant insurance qualifications through ANZIIF.
    • At all times and without exception a personal commitment to ethical conduct.
    • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
    • An interest and ability to engage professionally with new people, learn new skills and contribute to strategy.
    • Ability to focus on complex tasks.
