    Description

    A Business Analyst is required to support the elicitation, documentation, and communication of requirements within the Risk Technology team, part of Risk, and Broking. 

    Working predominantly within Agile frameworks, the successful must be able to work flexibly across a number of projects, liaising with key stakeholders and the delivery team, to ensure all requirements are well understood, captured, and agreed upon. For assigned projects, the BA will be responsible for ensuring that business needs continue to be represented throughout the delivery process, supporting Development, Testing, and Service Management teams, as required.

    The base location of the role will be in Mexico City.

     

    The Role

     

    • Understand the business needs
    • Working under the guidance of the Business Analyst Function Lead, liaise with business and technology stakeholders to elicit the functional and non-functional requirements to build the Product Backlog(s).
    • Build effective working relationships with business and technology stakeholders.
    • Facilitation of requirements gathering and refinement workshops, in an evolving and dynamic environment.
    • Understanding, creation, and maintenance of project artefacts (e.g. mock-ups, process flow diagrams, logical data models, etc.) to support in the understanding and development of agreed deliverables.
    • Working with fellow business analysts and the Risk Technology User Experience (UX) team, use various techniques to explore and understand the required functionality and usability of required solutions.
    • Documenting requirements in an agreed and structured manner, eliminating ambiguity to facilitate effective solution delivery. 
    • Support Programme delivery
    • Support the development of the Business Analysis function within the Risk Technology team, and suggest ways to improve working relations both within and across project work-streams.
    • Support with the prioritisation of various project work-streams, as well as intra-project activities and tasks.
    • Support the development and review of technical artefacts, such as solution designs, functional specifications, QA test strategies, etc. to ensure they account for business requirements.
    • Active contribution to project estimation, planning, risk and issue management, and progress reporting
    • Support ongoing communication and engagement with other initiatives.
    • Contribute to identifying and implementing cross-project/programme efficiencies, across all areas of the delivery lifecycle.

    Qualifications

    The Requirements

     

    • Experience and understanding of Business Analysis, including various techniques to elicit, document, and agree on functional and non-functional requirements, and managing change control / traceability.
    • Strong understanding of the full IT Project Lifecycle, from initial concept, through requirements, delivery, and into operational support.
    • Excellent communication skills, with proven ability to articulate complex concepts and issues to a variety of audiences.
    • Experience of active participation in workshops and requirements analysis, helping to set direction, and taking responsibility for ensuring effective operation and delivery.
    • Experience in creating and reviewing process flow diagrams.
    • Understanding of prototypes, mock-ups, and/or wireframes as part of product development.
    • Understanding of data-model diagrams, and the ability to understand relational structures.
    • Ability to engage with business and technology stakeholders at all levels, both on and off shore, and across various geographies / time-zones.
    • Innovative and willing to research and develop personal knowledge and skillsets.
    • Ability to work both independently without close supervision, and collaboratively, and to make key decisions in support of applicable work-streams, while adhering to Group and programme strategy and objectives.

     

    Desirable

     

    • Strong hands on experience of Business Analysis, including various techniques to elicit, document, and agree requirements.
    • Experience working within an Agile framework (ideally Scrum and Kanban).
    • Experience of leading workshops and requirements analysis, setting direction, and taking accountability for ensuring effective operation and delivery.
    • Exposure to development tools such as Microsoft VSTS.
    • Experience working within the Financial Services industry, include adherence to regulation.
    • Hands-on experience working with, and ideally creation of, prototypes, mock-ups, and/or wireframes.
    • Hands-on experience of creating and understanding data-model diagrams.
    • BCS Foundation Certificate in Business Analysis or equivalent.
    • University degree in a computer science related subject or equivalent.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft applications including Excel and Visio.
