    Description

    The Research and Innovation Center (RIC) serves as a WTW center of excellence for developing research papers, synthesizing technical developments, and managing and implementing new data resources and tools.

    The Benefits Data Source (BDS) team works directly with consultants to design and deliver benefits benchmarking solutions to clients around the world. The team focuses on the following activities: (a) build/maintain the database infrastructure, including standardized tools and reports, (b) maintain the integrity of the data through data cleaning, analysis and reporting; (c) develop customized client reports and consult directly with clients in situations where BDS analytics are a major part of a consulting project

     

    As a BDS Canada Data Analyst, your main responsibilities will be to capture detailed information on employer-sponsored benefit plan design practices in our database and to contribute to qualitative benchmarking projects for our clients. We are looking for a candidate to join the BDS team in our Montevideo or Manila (Americas time zone) locations. You will have the opportunity to:

    • Develop technical knowledge of benefits plans 
    • Develop data, process and task management skills

     

    The Role

    • Understand the benefits design practices landscape for Canada and maintain contents of BDS knowledge base.
    • Process client submissions through checking completeness and accuracy of data, preparing and sending queries, interpreting plan documents and client answers and coordinating with stakeholders via email or phone calls.
    • Enter new participants and update existing participants’ benefit programs into proprietary systems.
    • Interact with consultants throughout the company, as well as with clients and database participants.
    • Adhere to all approved process documents, workflows, templates and training materials.
    • Effectively use various tools and platforms for data collection, processing and reporting.
    • Collaborate with the team daily to ensure quality and timely delivery of work and sharing of ideas and best practices.
    • Perform qualitative benchmarking projects, including extracting prevalence statistics, trend analyses, producing side-by-side summaries of benefits and conducting ad-hoc surveys.

    Qualifications

    The Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma of College Studies, wide-ranging degrees could fit the role
    • Good knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
    • Keen attention to details and commitment to excellence
    • Strong organizational skills and self-starter attitude
    • Ability to make decisions, be proactive and take initiative
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
    • Ability to ask the right questions and seek help when needed
    • Capable of working within tight deadlines and balancing multiple projects
    • Ability to collaborate with a global team, include taking accountability for quality and timely delivery of own work and involving other team members when appropriate
    • Structured problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
    • Previous experience in benefits or insurance is a plus
