Lead Associate – North American Casualty
In this role you will support a portfolio of large, complex clients working as part of our North American Casualty team. You will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and engage with a diverse group of clients from a variety of industry sectors. A strong candidate will be/have:
• a proactive, fast learner who can execute in a team environment
• a strong relationship builder who is comfortable in a client facing role
• solutions driven with an ability to own / manage various processes
• detail oriented and able to manage competing timelines
• relevant insurance industry experience (preferred)
• degree level education or comparable industry experience
• strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills
• strong skills in problem solving, planning, data analysis, and numeracy
Principal Duties/Responsibilities:
Client Service and Operations:
• Understand our clients’ business and risk management needs and deliver tailored solutions through exceptional service
• Develop strong relationships with clients and internal partners
• Manage changes in client circumstances to ensure that the cover provided matches their needs
• Where a client’s needs cross over into other WTW specialties, liaise internally to ensure that WTW maintains a consistent approach
• Understand, apply and explain the business unit policies and procedures
• Provide technical, industry, and subject matter expertise where required
• Always operate within the business’s policies and procedures
• Communicate effectively with clients, markets, and others to maximise service delivery level
• Develop good knowledge of all internal WTW and industry systems maintaining and ensuring all internal metrics are met
• Liaise with offshore processing centres to ensure timely premium payment flow
• Support peer Account Handlers and Senior Brokers through timely administration of client accounts
Placement Management:
•Negotiate and place complex liability insurance programs on behalf of clients
•In coordination with US colleagues, prepare underwriting submissions for distribution to London insurers
•Demonstrate good knowledge and understanding of London Market Reform Contracts including quote, binder, and policy review
•Undertake renewal market presentations/negotiations and make appropriate recommendations
•Optimise revenue from new and existing clients through effective management of placement channels, facilities and markets for the specific client segment of the business
•Ensure transparency of agency and other commitments made to carriers and clients
•Ensure compliant processing of contracts as per FCA and contract certainty requirements
Retention and Growth:
•Support team leaders on various strategic initiatives including development of new products, tech enabled growth initiatives, and various process improvements.
•Work with WTW Account Executives to:
oDevelop and maintain a pipeline of prospects
o Actively preserve and grow relationships with US retail network and client servicing teams to provide coordinated client service
oRespond quickly and accurately to ad hoc client service requirements and new business introductions
oActively identify opportunities to work with colleagues across the business to capitalize on account penetration and cross selling opportunities
