    Description

    The Claims Trainer and Auditor will be responsible for developing and delivering training programs for claims handlers, as well as conducting audits to ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in claims handling and a strong understanding of training methodologies and auditing practices, along with an element of claims handling in Employers Liability and Public Liability Claims.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Training Development: Design and develop comprehensive training programs for claims handlers, covering all aspects of claims handling processes and procedures.
    • Training Delivery: Conduct training sessions for new hires and existing staff, using a variety of instructional techniques and formats.
    • Auditing: Perform regular audits of claims files to ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
    • Quality Assurance: Identify areas for improvement in claims handling processes, training needs and recommend corrective actions.
    • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of training activities and audit findings, and prepare detailed reports for management review.
    • Mentorship: Provide ongoing support and mentorship to claims handlers, helping them to develop their skills and knowledge.
    • Compliance: Ensure all training and auditing activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

    Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in claims handling, training, and auditing, and incorporate this knowledge into training programs and audit processes.

    Qualifications

    • Experience: Preferred 5 years of experience in claims handling, with a focus on training and auditing.
    • Skills:
    1. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    2. Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
    3. Proficiency in claims management software and auditing tools.
    4. In-depth knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements.
    5. Experience in designing and delivering training programs.
    • Attributes:
    1. Detail-oriented and organized.
    2. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    3. High level of integrity and professionalism.

    Delivery will be via 

    1. Classroom Training: Traditional instructor-led sessions where trainees learn through lectures, presentations, and discussions. This method is effective for introducing new concepts and providing foundational knowledge.
    2. E-Learning: Online courses and modules that trainees can complete at their own pace. E-learning often includes interactive elements like quizzes, videos, and simulations to enhance engagement and retention.
    3. On-the-Job Training: Practical, hands-on training where trainees work alongside experienced claims handlers to learn processes and procedures in a real-world setting. This method helps trainees gain practical experience and apply their knowledge directly.
    4. Workshops: Interactive sessions focused on specific topics or skills. Workshops often involve group activities, role-playing, and case studies to encourage active participation and collaborative learning.
    5. Coaching : Pairing trainees with experienced mentors who provide guidance, support, and feedback. Mentorship programs help trainees develop their skills and confidence through personalized coaching.
    6. Simulations: Using simulated scenarios to practice claims handling in a controlled environment. Simulations can include mock claims files, role-playing exercises, and decision-making challenges to help trainees develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills..
    7. Self-Study: Providing trainees with reading materials, manuals, and resources to study independently. Self-study allows trainees to learn at their own pace and revisit topics as needed.
    8. Peer Learning: Encouraging trainees to learn from each other through group discussions, collaborative projects, and knowledge-sharing sessions. Peer learning fosters a supportive learning environment and promotes teamwork.
    9. Continuous Feedback: Regularly providing trainees with feedback on their performance and progress. Continuous feedback helps trainees identify areas for improvement and track their development over time.
