    Description

Only Bermudian, spouses of Bermudians or PRC holders may apply

    Our Business

The Insurance Consulting and Technology (ICT) business of WTW advise and provide solutions to insurers,
reinsurers, Insurance-Linked Securities (ILS) funds and other investors on the quantification and
management of risk, and on wider operational capabilities, to provide competitive advantage in a rapidly
changing world. Our client base includes more than three-quarters of the world’s leading insurers across
    both life and property/casualty insurance

    The Role

A role in ICT is stimulating, challenging, exciting and extremely rewarding.

We require interns who are technically and mathematically minded, with the ability to solve complex and challenging commercial problems using innovative and proportionate approaches.

As consultant actuaries, it is necessary to build a strong technical skillset and be able to communicate complex concepts to audiences from a variety of backgrounds. Examples of audiences we deal with are actuaries, accountants, underwriters, brokers, lawyers, technologists, data scientists, insurance entrepreneurs, investors, senior executives and other Board members. Each audience has different needs and knowledge, and we need to tailor our communications to suit.

We seek candidates who are motivated to apply their expertise and skillsets to collaborate with clients,
aiding them in achieving strategic goals and objectives.

If you are interested in learning and working in one of Bermuda’s premier actuarial consultancies and
have the confidence to ask questions, take initiative and work in a collaborative and inclusive team
environment, we would love to hear from you!

Success during the summer internship may lead to the offer of an actuarial graduate position with the
    ICT team.

A typical day for an intern:

    • Work autonomously on independent projects and collaboratively on team assignments
with a variety of clients that may include financial reporting, risk management, pricing,
financial modeling and software implementation, mergers and acquisitions and
      research and development.
    • Work and learn alongside some of Bermuda’s leading re/insurance experts.
    • Develop strong business communication and presentation skills.
    • Attend industry meetings and networking opportunities.
    • Become an active member of an inclusive team environment.

    Qualifications

    • Bermudian, spouse of Bermudian or PRC  holder is required
    • You should be at college or university, with a minimum GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale or
predicted upper second-class degree. Copy of current transcript required.
    • Whilst there is no requirement for interns to have a specific degree, the actuarial qualification
syllabus is rigorous and examinations are highly demanding, so we recommend applicants have a
A-level (or equivalent) or math-based degree, for example: mathematics, statistics, actuarial
science, computer science, economics, engineering, chemistry or physics

The internship program is scheduled to run over a 6-to-9-week period from our Bermuda office between June to August, with flexibility to accommodate successful candidates, including over co-operative semesters and industry placement periods.

Please note you will be required to provide a clean, current Bermuda Police Certificate of Good Standing
    before commencing the internship.

    WTW Work Flex:

At WTW, we trust you to know your work and the people, tools and environment you need to be successful. The majority of our colleagues work in a ”hybrid” style, with a mix of remote, in-person and in-office interactions dependent on the needs of the team, role and clients. Our flexibility is rooted in trust and “hybrid” is not a one-size-fits-all solution.

We understand flexibility is key to supporting an inclusive and diverse workforce and so we encourage requests for all types of flexible working as well as location-based arrangements.
