    Description

    As an Exposure Management Associate Director within the UK P&C Consulting Practice you will work beside some of the market’s top thought leaders delivering Exposure Management solutions across property and non-property lines of business including those of catastrophe risk modelling, cyber, casualty & liability, and the ever more complex macro and systemic areas of risks such as climate change, supply chain issues and clash.

    In your role, you will be helping our clients by:

    • Working closely with the Head of Exposure Management and Climate Analytics 
    • Researching on key Exposure Management topics and sharing with the wider team(s)
    • Designing and implementing Exposure Management strategies and frameworks
    • Playing a key role in client engagements and leading sections of projects
    • Producing material for internal and external presentations and reports
    • Leveraging your market knowledge in developing cutting edge solutions for exposure management, in collaboration with various teams from across WTW

    The Role 

     

    Clients

    • Support the implementation of Exposure Management solutions and frameworks on behalf of WTW’s current and new clients, principally to ensure our clients’ Exposure Management function is meeting market practices, identifying solutions for enhancing focus areas, and/or to meet/exceed best practices
    • Lead day-to-day activities on projects and enhance our Exposure Management offerings for current and prospective clients
    • Develop a trusted advisor relationship with senior client contacts through effective communication and efficient, quality execution of projects
    • Interface with colleagues from other practices and regions on assignments that reflect the client’s broader business issues
    • Demonstrate commitment to WTW professional standards in managing key messages, reports and analyses, and communication with clients

    • Lead or contribute to the development of the company’s intellectual capital in respect of exposure management and related areas including plans for taking this to market 
    • Have a desire to establish and enhance a public reputation in a chosen specialism through the production of research, articles and presentations

     

    Financial and business development

    • Meet goals for sales and intellectual capital development
    • Develop and present proposals to potential clients, demonstrating the economic value of the company’s offerings
    • Use contacts within current network to obtain introductions to new contacts; work to develop supporters for company’s products and services

     

    People

    • Build relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams
    • Serve as a manager or mentor to more junior colleagues

    Qualifications

    The Requirements 

    • Proven experience of industry exposure management knowledge as well as technical experience of catastrophe risk management and managing stakeholders. 
    • Understanding of exposure management methods and techniques across property, and casualty and liability classes. Familiarity with exposure data capture systems and catastrophe modelling software data outputs is highly desirable.
    • Have a proven track record of assisting in the implementation exposure management strategies and tolerance monitoring frameworks and be able to demonstrate the use of innovative exposure and risk management ideas into a production environment.
    • Technical competence with knowledge of catastrophe models and Solvency II principles. Knowledge of other regulators is desirable
    • Knowledge of the strengthens and limitations of proprietary vendor catastrophe models and having some experience in dependent validation of models and views of risk is desirable.
    • Awareness of ESGs, Physical Risks and Transition Risks.
    • Awareness of Lloyd’s “Principles for Doing Business”.
    • Awareness of Stress and Scenario Testing (SST) and the practicalities of associated with modelling and actuarial methodologies.
    • Knowledge of risk, outwards RI, actuarial (capital, pricing and reserving), claims, reserving and technical pricing is desirable. 
    • Strong interpersonal and team skills
    • Self-starter attitude and ability to work within ambiguity 
    • Strong analytical and creative skills
    • Enjoy training / mentoring junior staff
    • The ability to see the "big picture”, leveraging the resources of related practices to address the clients' business challenges
