The Role
We are seeking a strategic NA Benefits Outsourcing Technology Consultant to develop and execute our integrated technology roadmap, focusing on continued innovation and ensuring adherence to WTW's quality and governance controls.
Tasks
Strategic Development and Execution:
• Collaborate with leadership, product, and transformation teams to evolve and provide input into the roadmap for future system enhancements, implementation timing, and resource allocation.
• Align technology initiatives with the Client Delivery Vision, providing governance and working with BAs/Devs on new releases.
• Assess and implement solutions to mitigate inefficiencies and gaps in market expectations.
• Present technology updates and system KPIs to leadership during quarterly reviews.
• Partner with Product Leadership and DevOps Leadership to coordinate requirements.
Software Delivery:
• Create full stack components and features that are directly accessed by users through a UI or API.
• Work with production support teams to triage priority issues.
• Collaborate with all software product development disciplines (including engineering, architecture, product owners, testers, and analysts) to develop and maintain solutions that meet business needs, utilizing industry-standard best practices and modern software engineering techniques.
• Design, code, test, and debug new product enhancements for commercial software products.
• Drive maintainable and reusable solutions that are secure and meet performance benchmarks.
• Embrace, implement, and promote test automation as an integral part of the team.
• Conduct code reviews for peers and junior team members.
• Participate in the evaluation of emerging technologies and tools.
Financial Management:
• Manage utilization and efficiency of work delivery, ensuring work effort aligns with established budgets and efficiency targets.
People Leadership:
• Serve as a leader in NA outsourcing, actively networking and building relationships with colleagues across both technical and functional roles.
• Share knowledge and expertise across the community to support growth among colleagues in all roles.
• Provide guidance and support to colleagues across delivery groups to enhance their technical skillsets and product knowledge.
• Grow your personal skillset by engaging in areas outside your core expertise to support the business and other integrated lines of business.
Excellence in Execution:
• Develop a system configuration strategy and ensure the system performs within expected performance levels.
• Comply with governance leadership to ensure adherence to established procedural and technical governance standards.
• Lead the team in implementing new system enhancements and other large, complex projects.
• Coordinate with the team to understand the impact of enhancements/customizations to the core product and determine how/when core system updates should be implemented.
The Requirements
• Experience working with the full Microsoft technology stack, including .NET/C#, SQL Server, ASP.NET, MVC, and Web API.
• Experience with multi-threaded applications and the Task Parallel Library.
• RESTful architecture experience.
• Proficiency in HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS3.
• Experience with front-end libraries such as AngularJS, Angular, and jQuery.
• Experience with Software as a Service (SaaS) and multi-tenancy application development.
• Experience with browser-based web applications delivered over the Internet that support user concurrency.
• Experience working with large relational databases and SQL development.
• Experience using Agile Scrum software development life cycle.
• Experience using source control management tools such as GITHUB and Azure DevOps.
• Proven experience in technology consulting, particularly in benefits outsourcing.
• Strong leadership and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
