    Description

    The Role

    Risk & Compliance Officer

    This ideal candidate will be responsible to support the Compliance, Risk & Technology Department in the timely completion of the compliance plan and the day-to-day compliance operations for the Company.  

    Responsibilities:

    • Act as Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer.
    • Act as Data Protection Officer.
    • Carry out screening and in-depth checks on potential customers by collecting and analyzing information relating to their identity, business activity and source of funds, etc.…
    • Review existing customer profiles to identify possible suspicious activity, including unusual transactions and atypical sources of income.
    • Compiling of data for all internal and external surveys.
    • Submit regulatory returns to relevant authorities within specified deadlines.
    • Prepare regular reports to senior management on AML and compliance matters.
    • Conduct transaction monitoring activities in line with annual and ad-hoc plans.
    • Carrying out of internal procedures review based on internal procedures manual
    • Drafting & updating Procedures Manuals.

    Qualifications

    The Requirements

    • Minimum a degree holder or equivalent professional qualification
    • At least 7 years of experience in compliance within the financial services sector, demonstrating a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and requirements
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
    • Ability to work, both individually and as a team, under pressure to tight timelines and without direct supervision. 
    • Commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining excellent understanding of regulatory developments
    • Fluent in English & French
