The Senior Claims Handler role is part of the GB Retail Claims team within the Corporate Risk and Broking (CRB) Business Unit. This position involves managing a portfolio of potentially complex and some high-value claims, including Employers’ Liability (EL), Public Liability (PL), including injury, Property. This role involves investigating claims, assessing liability & quantum, ensuring timely and accurate resolution in accordance with UK Law. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in claims handling and a deep understanding of legal and regulatory requirements.
You will work closely with colleagues in the UK (Ipswich), as well as insurers, solicitors, and other stakeholders, to deliver a high-quality claims service. As a senior member of the team, you will provide technical guidance, mentoring, and contribute to process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
• Claims Investigation: Conduct thorough investigations of employers' liability and public liability injury claims, including gathering liability documents, medical records, witness statements, and other relevant documentation.
• Assessment: Evaluate the validity of claims, determine liability, and calculate appropriate compensation based on policy terms and conditions.
• Legal Compliance: Ensure all claims handling processes comply with UK law and regulatory requirements.
• Communication: Maintain clear and professional communication with Clients, claimants, medical professionals, legal representatives, and other stakeholders throughout the claims process.
• Documentation: Ensure all claims are accurately documented and updated in the claims management system.
• Resolution: Negotiate settlements and resolve claims in a timely and efficient manner.
• Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior claims handlers, sharing expertise and best practices.
• Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and summaries of claims activities for management and Client review.
