Key Responsibilities
• Perform month end closing processes for assigned line(s) of business including journal entries, account analysis and internal financial reports.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
• Understand insurance carrier data to include contracts, commissions and policy data.
• Responsible for commission statement allocations as well as additional analysis as needed.
• Perform other duties as required to support the understanding and analysis of the profitability of the company and related lines of business.
• Prepare journal entries related to fixed assets and additional required reporting.
• Assist with external audit requests.
• Work with colleagues across the organization to resolve discrepancies.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and assist in implementing changes to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
• Special projects as needed.
• Participate in and contribute positively to work/team environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Need to be successful:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 4+ years of accounting experience
• COA certification is preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in Excel; Oracle experience is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Critical thinking and high attention to detail
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Organized and strong time management skills
