    Overview

    The Structured Solutions Team Leader role is a key leadership position within our Global Aviation & Space Broking Team. Accountable to the Structured Solutions Director the successful candidate will be responsible for the career management of direct report(s) and the delivery of projects being completed by Structured Solutions colleagues. The role consists of maintaining and enhancing the existing Global Aviation & Space Business Unit structured solutions offering including continually developing the governance framework, our line slips and delegated authority agreements and the analytics we provide in addition to developing the talent of our colleagues.

    The Role:

    The Structured Solutions Team Leader will:

    • Deputise for the Structured Solutions Director.
    • Line manage a Structured Solutions Analyst(s) being accountable to the Structured Solutions Director and responsible for that/ those colleagues professional performance and career development.
    • Work alongside a multitude of internal stakeholders in order to capture key Structured Solutions data that assists with the continued success of existing and future structured solutions. These stakeholders include, but are not limited to, Structured Solutions Director, Head of Broking, Head of Strategy & Development, One Way One Place (OWOP), Facilities Operations Team (FOT), Market Derived Income (MDI) Committee, Second Line colleagues, e.g. Legal and Compliance etc. and BU colleagues e.g. brokers and account handlers etc.
    • Assist in the creation of new and lead the renewal of existing Aviation & Space Structured Solutions. To achieve this, you will be directly liaising with senior colleagues in Willis Limited and actively approaching underwriters within the Market to discuss their terms prior to the inception of line slips.
    • Continuously review current structured solutions identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement in order to generate more revenue and improve operational efficiency.
    • Work with FOT and the Bureaux Submission Team (BST) to complete structured solution market loading and bureaux signing.
    • Manage in-house line slip synopses that record insurer participation under each structured solution.
    • Ensure complete master declarations for each panel under each structured solution.
    • Collaborate with internal Aviation & Space colleagues to fill new and renewing declaration requests. Utilising existing master declarations to craft bespoke declarations based on risk information provided.
    • Complete post-declaration procedures such as sending declarations, MRCs and policy term files out to the relevant markets once agreed. But also, to send Box 1, Box 2 and Box 3 endorsements to the markets for information or agreement as required post inception.
    • Report analysis and trends upwards to the Structured Solutions Director, Head of Broking and CEO of Global Aviation & Space; amongst other stakeholders.
    • Produce Structured Solution MI data on a monthly, quarterly or Ad-hoc basis as and when required. Data required can range from Premiums, Claims, Brokerage or MDI and can be requested from both internal and external stakeholders.
    • Generate MI driven data reports in order to service our ongoing promise to insurers, by delivering market leading summaries that assist in identifying aggregated line slip performances based on their individual participation.
    • Manage the day-to-day running of the Structured Solutions Team in order to achieve the agreed strategy.
    • Maintain surveillance of incoming queries and updates to the Structured Solutions inbox, then look to action accordingly in a timely professional manner.
    • Maintain the Structured Solutions share point page, ensuring that all key Structured Solutions data is captured and updated promptly in order to best serve our internal Aviation & Space colleagues.
    • Manage Structured Solutions team bureaux queries as required.
    • Act as SPOE for other Structured Solutions team colleagues, e.g. line slip MRCs, preparation of declarations, MI reports, bordereaux creation and other Structured Solutions data capture.
    • Ensure mandatory WTW training and CPD procedures are completed within the appointed time, in order to comply with WTW company requirements.

    Qualifications

    The Requirement:

    • 5 or more years’ experience in the insurance industry.
    • Preferably educated to DIP CII level or actively working towards.
    • Existing knowledge of the London insurance market.
    • Advanced experience utilising key Microsoft products (Excel (incl. Formulas, VBA, Macro), Word, Powerpoint, PowerBI and Outlook).
