    Description

    We are seeking an experienced and visionary Technology Leader to head our Affinity Technology Team, driving innovation and excellence across our global engineering teams. This role is crucial in delivering scalable and robust technology solutions that meet the business's evolving needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, proven experience in managing agile teams, and the ability to influence and engage with senior stakeholders across various geographies.

    The Role

    Leadership & Team Management:

    • Lead and mentor a global team of software engineers and technologists located across the UK, South America, and India.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the teams.
    • Oversee agile development practices and ensure efficient delivery of high-quality software solutions.

    Technology Strategy & Solution Architecture:

    • Own and define the technology roadmap for the Affinity team, aligning it with business objectives.
    • Provide leadership in solution architecture, ensuring scalable, secure, and efficient system designs.
    • Collaborate with engineering teams and architects to guide the development of end-to-end solutions that solve complex technical challenges.

    Stakeholder Management:

    • Act as the primary technology contact for key internal and external stakeholders.
    • Partner closely with business leaders, product teams, and other technology departments to ensure alignment and effective communication.
    • Translate business requirements into technical solutions while managing stakeholder expectations.

    Global Team Oversight:

    • Manage and coordinate distributed teams across multiple time zones.
    • Ensure seamless collaboration between global teams, promoting best practices and knowledge sharing.
    • Identify and address challenges related to global delivery, including time zone differences, communication, and cultural nuances.

    Process Improvement & Agile Delivery:

    • Champion agile methodologies, fostering a culture of iterative development and continuous delivery.
    • Identify areas for process optimization and implement changes to improve team productivity and product quality.
    • Drive operational efficiency by introducing tools, techniques, and processes that enhance team performance.

    Qualifications

    The Requirements

    Experience:

    • Extensive experience in technology leadership roles, with experience managing globally distributed teams.
    • Solid background in software development, with a deep understanding of modern engineering practices- although this is not a hands-on role
    • Proven experience in solution architecture, driving scalable, secure, and performant systems.

    Agile Leadership:

    • Extensive experience leading agile teams, with a track record of successfully delivering large-scale software projects.

    Stakeholder Management:

    • Demonstrable experience in managing relationships with senior stakeholders across different business functions and geographies.

    Technical Acumen:

    • Strong understanding of cloud technologies, microservices, APIs, and other modern software architectures.
    • Experience of using Microsoft Azure Cloud, Microsoft Development Stack and Microservices & Application Integration methods

    Communication & Collaboration:

    • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Familiarity with modern development tools, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure.
    • Experience in the Affinity or FinTech/Insurtech sector is a plus.
