Role Overview
We design and deliver software that creates meaningful employee experiences that inspire and engage people, driving behavior change and business success. As a Principal UX Architect on our user experience team, you will define the visual design, accessibility, and overall end employee UX strategy for Embark—our software platform focused on delivering HR communications in a personalized and effective way. This role is pivotal in creating a systematic, scalable approach to visual design and UX that enables HR teams to build stunning, high-impact digital experiences for employees across web, mobile and conversational AI. You will craft reusable design templates and patterns that balance brand flexibility with best-in-class usability, ensuring seamless adoption across diverse client organizations.
Beyond visual design, you will lead the UX for the end employee experience, collaborating closely with the UX designers working on the Admin experience to ensure that the necessary tools and workflows are in place to support our WTW teams in delivering client end-employee experiences quickly and efficiently. A key aspect of this role is ownership of the design of our Virtual Assistant—a conversational AI co-pilot that enhances the end employee experience. You will be responsible for defining the UX and interaction design of the Virtual Assistant, ensuring it seamlessly integrates with the broader Embark platform and provides intelligent, intuitive support for employees.
You will also lead our accessibility practice, embedding WCAG compliance and inclusive design principles into our processes and helping internal teams and clients apply best practices effectively. Additionally, you will explore AI-driven innovations in visual design, identifying opportunities for AI-generated imagery and automation to streamline workflows and improve brand and accessibility compliance.
Collaboration is central to this role—you will work closely with product managers, engineering, researchers, and offshore designers, ensuring that stakeholder needs translate into intuitive, scalable, and accessible employee-facing experiences. Your work will shape the end-to-end design approach for Embark’s employee experience and the tooling that HR teams use to configure branded experiences.
In addition to core responsibilities, you will play a key role in innovation initiatives and future-facing design explorations. Partnering closely with the UX Director, you will support rapid prototyping efforts, develop high-fidelity concept designs, and create compelling presentations to communicate visionary ideas to stakeholders and clients. This work requires a flexible, dynamic mindset—someone who thrives in fast-paced, quick-turn projects and can bring creative, high-quality interaction and visual design solutions to emerging challenges.
