    Description

    Great opportunity to join us as a Broker in the Middle Market North America Property team within Direct & Facultative working with clients/cedants from across the globe. 

    The Role

    • Ability to understand a client or prospect’s business, situations, opportunities, problems, and key issues
    • Ability to manage relationships and negotiate placement with the reinsurance market
    • Prepare client and prospect presentations considering the impact of client profitability
    • Work with other Account Executives and sales teams in determining appropriate solutions and structuring and pricing the deal
    • Identify appropriate markets and determine placing strategy
    • Create and grow relationships with underwriters in London and international markets
    • Price and designing conceptual programmes
    • Ensure ongoing compliance with WTW guidelines and procedures.
    • Ensure good relationships and communication with other WTW associates
    • A thorough understanding and an expert real time user for all relevant systems 
    • Understand the clients’ business and risk management needs and look for solutions to deliver those needs through the provision of ongoing service
    • Understand, apply and where necessary explain the BU policies and procedures
    • Identify primary budget holders and decision makers within clients, establish and maintain active relationships with these people
    • Provide technical, industry and subject matter expertise where required 
    • Draw on expertise within specialist technical teams within the BU and across the Group for clients as required
    • Liaise with clients and build strong relationships
    • Determine appropriate solutions, structure, price, and placement strategies that meet the clients’ needs and deliver profitable business for a range of clients 
    • Grow existing portfolio by identifying new new, and/or existing opportunities
    • Responsibility for supporting the drive of the sales process and business area practice activity in relation to winning, retaining, and developing profitable new clients
    • Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospects including research, initiation of contact, meetings, responding to RFPs, new business presentations, accurately maintaining WTW CRM database in order to create and convert sales opportunities
    • Respond quickly and accurately to new business introductions
    • Actively identify opportunities to work with colleagues across the business to capitalise on account penetration and cross selling opportunities
    • Develop and maintain knowledge of relevant products and services offered by WTW
    • Networking – internally with other BUs, within the sector, and with external specialists (lawyers, TPAs, insurers).
    • Work closely and maintain working relationships with key market contacts (and the Broking Team) as required
    • Ensure transparency of agency and other commitments made to carriers and clients
    • Manage compliant processing of contracts as per FCA and contract certainty requirements
    • Assist with loading of data into the relevant WTW systems 
    • Check market presentations and client documentation as appropriate
    • Assist with and design programme and pricing structures to best meet the client’s needs based on knowledge of the client, the reinsurance market and industry sector proposition
    • Deliver optimisation of revenue from new and existing clients through the use of the full range of appropriate placement channels and markets for the specific client segment of the business

    Qualifications

    The Requirements

    • Preferably ACII qualified or working towards the ACII qualification
    • Preferably fluent in second language
    • A proven track record in Insurance Broking or Underwriting
    • A good knowledge of the reinsurance market to address client and technical issues
    • Experience across retail, reinsurance, and retrocession property placements as well as any other line of business experience will be greatly useful in this segment of the portfolio
    • “Whole chain” experience dealing with clients and colleagues globally from the retail to the reinsurance and cedant clients offering fronting solutions and specific facultative opportunities as well as portfolio protections
    • Computer specific skills:
    • Good communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
    • Excellent technical skills
    • Good presentation abilities
    • Ability to assimilate and apply large volumes of information rapidly
    • Negotiation skills coupled with the ability to be flexible and innovative
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team
    • Able to prioritise, manage deadlines and work under pressure
    • Comfortable explaining complex concepts and making recommendations to clients/client servicing teams
    • Must be able to forge links between broking and client servicing teams
    • Ability to adapt personal style to work effectively with a wide range of clients, colleagues, and underwriters
    • Must be prepared to work with integrity and openness, always complying with FCA requirements.
    • Good IT skills with excellent Excel usage capability including:
      • Broking Platform / PPL / FMA
      • MS Office
      • Power BI
      • PQ / RIC
