The legal department is responsible for advising on legal issues that arise in the course of business, ranging from litigation and claims, commercial and corporate transactions and contracts to employment laws, compliance and regulatory issues. We provide seamless legal support on a global basis, with professional staff located in numerous countries around the world, including India.
WTW is seeking a junior lawyer to join the India legal team in its Gurgaon or Mumbai office, reporting to the Head of Legal, Asia-Pacific. The primary focus of the role is to support and work closely with the legal team, assist in providing high quality commercial legal advice, counsel and support to the Risk & Broking and Health, Wealth & Career business segments in India. The successful candidate should be comfortable working with internal business teams and external parties in order to support the handling of a broad workload. The role requires the application of a high level of attention to detail and focus, combined with a strong commitment to helping the business succeed whilst maintaining and projecting solid ethical values. There will be focus on the following areas of work: commercial contract reviews and drafting, assisting with regulatory advice, cross-border transactions, assisting with professional indemnity claims and other litigation, advising on new products and sales initiatives. There may also be opportunities for involvement with employment matters and special projects including M&A transactions. The successful candidate will be an exemplary team player and be able to prioritize competing demands effectively. The said candidate will need to be proactive and highly organized and should be able to communicate effectively and confidently with people at all levels of the organization.
